This place will cost you money. They execute trades extremely slowly. Customer service is terrible. I transferred 25k for a day scottrade account. But upon purchasing a stock, I was unable to sell it because the account exceeded the max number of days, despite it being a day trade account. That mistake alone could have cost thousands had I leaned heavily into the trade. Worst of all is that they make it impossible for you to pull out your money. They dont process your requests in a timely manner if at all. I had to call 5 times to get someone to acknowledge my request scottrade transfer and then they denied me. What a total scam. Go with scottrade, or emritrade, or speedtrader, or anyone else. Do not trust these scam artists with your hard earned money Edit They contacted me to make things right. Still wouldn't recommend them though. But no more than that. I remember once having to call in to make a trade under pressure of time and the broker lady had the nerve to put me on hold This place only has one good thing to offer. Besides that, there is not much value add. I consistently put money in my account the day I joint like to execute a trade and they promise that all deposits that are less then previous deposits, will get auto funded to allow you to trade immediately as they work with your bank for the actual funds transfer. This is simply not the scottrade and has time and time again cost me the opportunity to execute when I would like to. But it often takes 2 or 3 business days for your funds to be available. It is pretty frustrating when the service promised and advertised does not equate to the service provided. I would not recommend them at this current point in time. Vectorvest praised Trade King and has links where its made easy to trade on the Vectorvest platform on TradeKing. Thats the good part. From day 1 I was NOT impressed with Trade King. After a few trades I could see something was tradeking wrong with their quotes. To test them I laid 2 laptops side by side and checked the quotes. One was one of the BIG investment companies where I have most of my money with and the other trade king. Right away I could see I was getting stale old-or time delayed quotes from trade king and that was why limit orders placed several cents below the big-ask was getting filled right away. Im loosing money right off with bat with stale quotes. I call and ask about this, and the gal says you you didnt ask for real time quotes. Why should one have to ask for this? They are free right?? I cant wrap my head around this very well but they changed me to real time joint. This should have been a given if they wish to be a legitimate brokerage in the year or They also offer so much in free trades to transfer an account which I did. Well I started to trade and no free trades. I call up after three trades and ask them to tradeking them to show free. Well they cant do it right away most any other brokerage would be able tobut they said not to worry they would get joint done in 30 days. I watch longer and 60 days and nothing. Well if it didnt work the first time what makes the second time the charm? She asks will I accept that?? Sure I said, and that worked. Just 15 min ago I had a limit order at Bid ask was Then I see it drop below that and still im not filled. Are they filling it lower and pocketing the difference? I have no way of knowing. What I do know is that the major brokerages dont have any of these problems. You are probably in reality paying a lot more than the majors price when all is said and done with the slipplage and poor fills. I would never recommend this scottrade to ANYONE!!! They failed to give me the joint promised and wouldn't even refund me a single trade fee as a customer courtesy gesture after the hundreds of dollars of bonus I lost. They are not to be trusted! I was a customer of MBTrading There's no point in comparing both After you get through the rather lengthy process of verifying your identity I think they have to do thisdealing with this company was rather easy a fluid. Additionally, their rates are low and their customer service is responsive. In a recent divorce decree, I was awarded the joint account my ex and I have with this company. From October to FebruaryI tried to get this joint account switched into my name, but hurdle after hurdle was placed in front of me by the brokerage. Finally, they told me that they would comply with the court decree when my ex-husband signed a release form. As this was an unpleasant divorce, I have concerns the ex will not comply until I spend more money with my attorney and take him to court to get him to comply with the decree which states he shall cooperate with the transfer. In addition, the brokerage told me that upon reading the decree, they could not find where the decree gives me the account. The decree was marked with a large arrow on the paragraph pertaining to this award. I fear that TradeKing is near insolvency to practice business in this manner. In any case, it appears I will be out more attorney fees because of their business practices just to retrieve the money that I put into this account initially from my own funds. I have filed a complaint with Federal Trade Commission and with the Attorney General of the state of Washington. I sincerely hope that this line of loud public internet complaint will at least result in me retrieving my money without further delay. TradeKing, you will never ever receive my business again or receive a positive review or referral from me. I hope others will scottrade up as well. I'm sure their behavior is consistent.
